Our Chew Magna office is once again helping to raise money at East Harptree Court on Saturday, 15th July for their village charities by running our 'Guess the Balloons' competition in Wallace. If you are in the area, do call in and see us, it starts at 2 pm - you could win an Amazon Fire Tablet.

Two of Debbie Fortune Estate Agents cars will be in attendance at Congresbury Village Fete and Flower Show on Saturday, 1st July, 1.30pm to 5 pm. Admission is £1 (children under 16 free). other attractions besides our Guess The Balloons and Guess Ratty's Age to be in with a chance to win either an Amazon Fire Tablet or an iPad, include food and entertainment provided by village clubs and organisations, such as a flower show and plant sale; Rascals, Pre-school and PTA; Women's Institute; YCCCART Archaeology; Friends of St Andrew's Church; Youth Partnership; Community Library, Bouncy Castle and Ball Pool; children's storytelling; bowls game; PTA Fun Run; Coconut Shy; golf game; Morgan Car Show, etc.

There will also be a beer tent, afternoon teas, sweets, barbeque, Pimms bar and ice cream.

Wallace will be in attendance for the Guess how many Balloons competition at the Compton Martin Village Fete being held at the Ring O' Bells from 2pm-4.30pm. Come along and say hello!

Ratty, a very rare Alvis car which shares a garage with Wallace, one of our other vintage cars. This classic car was the very first front wheel drive production car and was developed by Alvis in Coventry in the 1920s, mainly for racing.

The one which Debbie Fortune Estate Agents use is the Le Mans bodied version from the year they won their class at Le Mans. Luckily, we have all the factory records of this car, and so the competition was set to guess the actual day and month this car was completed at the works. This is a competition is running until the end of the season, and the prize for the correct answer is an Apple iPad.

On a scorcher of a day, Rowberrow Village Fete was held in the magnificent setting of Rowberrow Manor, courtesy of Paul and Diana Chedgy.

There was a wonderful display of classic cars to enjoy, as well as an exhibition by local artists; floral decorations and local history display in the church of St Michael and All Angels; live music; children’s sports and games; as well as cream teas and homemade cakes.

Prizes in the grand draw included a champagne balloon flight, £200 cash, a week in a Cornish cottage, a champagne tea for two at The Wolseley, London; as well as our own Guess the Age of “Ratty”.

We raised a magnificent £50 towards the local church, St Michael and All Angel’s in Rowberrow, and there will be some additional donations to Shipham First School and Shipham Pre-School. The exact monies raised by the fete is still being counted.
