Once again we were proud sponsors of the North Somerset Show at Wraxall recently, by providing the advertising signs promoting the event in the run up to the event and were also raising money for North Somerset Countryside Day at our stand on the day.
Debbie explains, ‘This year was a tremendous success in spite of the lunch time downpour. We were very busy during the day with lots of visitors to the stand and lots of compliments which were most welcome, as we had worked really hard to create a display that was interesting, colourful and most importantly fun! The children particularly loved our display of toys which included a teddy, a vintage rocking horse and ‘Murphy’ our lucky mascot. Our music was very kindly provided by Gerald and Hazel Atherton who brought their vintage and beautifully decorated continental organ, which kept us all entertained...even in the rain!’
‘Our two cars, both classic Alvis’s, really drew the crowds and we ran two competitions to raise funds for this worthy cause, which brings children from urban environments out to the country to experience farming life and rural food production at first hand.’
So once again, show goers were able to ‘guess the number of balloons’ in Little Al, Debbie’s 1950 Alvis TB14, for a chance to win an Amazon Kindle kindly donated by Debbie and her team. The second quiz was for car enthusiasts everywhere and invited visitors to ‘guess the age’ of Ratty, Mark Hayward’s front wheel drive vintage racer...this competition will continue throughout the season and the successful entrant will win an iPad.
‘All in all it was a super day’ said Debbie ‘and we are proud to be involved and to support such a well run event which gets bigger and better every year.'
