Time after time....
Buying or selling a house is for most of us the single largest financial transaction we make in our lives.
We can find ourselves talking about tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds.
And that’s not the half of it.
Because buying and selling a house is not just a financial consideration, it’s an emotional one too.
It’s not just bricks and mortar, it's homes.
People’s homes
That’s why after 30 years working as the estate agent of choice in the area, Debbie Fortune reopened at The Clock House in January 2009.
In the heart of the area she knows like the back of her hand.
Ready to welcome new clients and old, many of whom will have used her
time after time
When Debbie helped her first clients sell in the area in the late 70s it was not unusual to see a house sell for £10,000 and now, some 30 years later, the same house may have resold many times and each time at a different price.
In the past 30 years she has literally sold thousands of homes in the Wrington Vale, the Yeo Valley , the Chew Valley and The Mendips.
She has worked through the boom years, weathered the property slump of the early 90s and has a level of experience and a reputation that simply cannot be challenged. Her intimate knowledge of the property market comes not just from the houses she has sold but also from her love of the area.
After all, she chooses to live here and has done all her life.
She knows the difference between the villages in the area, knows about schools, shops, bus services and can even recommend a good pub.
A firm believer in sustainable trade, Debbie Fortune and her staff use local shops and services and recommend those to clients and customers. She receives the same loyalty and support from the community most of whom want to keep services and facilities local.
As she says , "Why should you have to trek into town to find a good agent, when one is literally on your doorstep and one who knows the area better than any other agent".
So much for our philosophy but what do we actually do at Debbie Fortune estate agents.
Firstly we provide you with a market appraisal – our opinion of the likely selling price.
This part of our service is a combination of art and science. The science comes from local comparable properties , market conditions and financial forecasts.
The art bit is much harder.
Your house may be utterly unique with a great view... so the science goes out of the window and the art takes over. After all , what ‘s a view worth?
That’s where we call in our 30 years of experience and success. We want to get it right.
This is also the time that we give you any tips which will help you get the best possible price for your home. More often than not a ‘declutter’ is all that’s needed. Sometimes more radical help is required.
We can guide you through all of this so that when your home launches to the market it is correctly priced and stands out from the crowd.
A full colour brochure comes next, marketing includes press advertising and property portals together with our own website debbiefortune.co.uk.
We keep in touch every step of the way, right up until the day you move.
Our personal service means you won’t be left in the dark
Finally, do you remember when estate agents showed people round houses?
Well so do we. And we still do |
