Chew Valley Lakes, if you are a secret twitcher then there is no better place to visit than Chew Valley Lake! The fifth largest artificial lake in the country (yes it is actually a reservoir not lake) is home to visiting rare birds, including osprey, the scarcer grebes, and an American wader or duck appears most years. There is a visitors centre to enjoy, and future plans to connect the nature trail to one day be able to circumnavigate to whole lake. Michelin Star Award winning Chef Josh Eggleton has made the lakes a must visit destination for people who are fond of the old English Traditional of Fish and Chips by the waterside. Salt and Malt has a covered restaurant for those less inclement weather days but equally you can sit and watch the setting sun on a picnic bench on those hazy summer evenings.
