Last chance to enter 2019 Chew Valley 10k & 1k..

The popular Chew Valley 10k and 1k Fun Run on Sunday 9th June, sponsored by Debbie Fortune Estate Agents, is now in its 7th year and will have a record capacity of 1000 runners!

This much-loved community event held at Bishop Sutton Football Club, BS39 5XN was started to encourage activity amongst all ages, whilst having fun and raising as much money as possible for charity. This year, the event’s main beneficiaries will be Bishop Sutton Primary School Society, Chew Valley School Society, local charity, A Life for a Cure, Ryan Breshnahan’s Meningitis Appeal www.ryanbresnahan.org and Chew Valley based charity, NICU Support www.nicusupport.co.uk which supports Neo-natal intensive care units in Bristol, Bath, Somerset and surrounding areas, transporting donated breast milk from across the region to help premature babies at a critical time in their lives and also transporting mothers to their babies, when needed.

All CV10k entrants will receive a free technical tshirt and bespoke medal, as worn by the Debbie Fortune team at their Congresbury office, pictured with Mike Burns of NICU Support.

Mike Burns says “We are delighted to be a main beneficiary of the Chew Valley 10k this year - the support helps us cover our insurance costs for the vehicles and to continue the voluntary service that we offer. Premature babies chances of survival increase by 50% when given breast milk at this critical time in their lives and we have built up a network of donor mums from all over North Somerset and surrounding areas to ensure the NICUs have enough supplies. More information about the work NICU Support does and how you can support them can be found at www.nicusupport.co.uk .

This year’s 10k and 1km races will both begin at Bishop Sutton Football Club at 9.30am and 11.30am respectively. Children aged 4-14 years will be able to participate in a neon-themed 1km fun run, and runners can dress as bright as they dare! All details are at www.chewvalley10k.co.uk and entries for the 1k are available on the day, if not already sold out.

Runners are urged to enter the 10k online now at www.chewvalley10k.co.uk to avoid missing out as every year has been a sell-out for this popular, community event.  For more information please check the website www.chewvalley10k.co.uk or follow the event on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @chewvalley10k.
