DESCRIPTION Extended and much improved in recent years by its current owners, 'Alexandra Cottage' is built of local stone elevations with a gorgeous clay tiled roof. It has been skilfully and sympathetically renovated to create what is now a wonderfully atmospheric and character packed family home full of original period charm with smart modern refinements.
On entering the property, you step directly into the stunning kitchen/Breakfast room featuring a beautiful hand built shaker style kitchen, exposed stone walls and slate tiled floor. The kitchen has plenty of space for a family breakfast/dining table and has a reclaimed timber staircase rising to the first floor. Beyond the kitchen is a really useful utility room which has additional storage units, plumbing for white goods and a sink. There is also a handy cloakroom.
The sitting room which sits below the kitchen is a charming room once again awash with character features and a gorgeous stone fire place and pretty cottage window.
On the first floor are the three individual bedrooms which all retain wonderful character and are centred off a lovely galleried landing. The master bedroom is a gorgeous 'C' shaped room which raps around an exposed stone chimney breast. Hand crafted bespoke wardrobes line one wall whilst Velux windows in the ceiling are perfectly positioned for star gazing at night. The guest bedroom, which could also be utilised as a first floor living room, enjoys the best views from anywhere in the house which extend out over the rooftops of the village houses towards Blagdon Lake. The third and final bedroom is a perfect child's bedroom or could be utilised as a home office or study. Completing the accommodation is the stylish family bathroom which is very much in keeping with the rest of the house and blends both modern contemporary with old world charm.
The property has been subject to a full renovation schedule which included re-wiring, new plumbing and central heating, new upvc double glazed windows, extending the original footprint of the house and refitting and plastering each room throughout.
Outside, the property has off street parking and a stone workshop and an elevated rear garden. The rear garden is accessed via an enchanting stone pathway which rises to the rear of the house, past exposed rock face and cleverly planted borders. Reaching the plateau above the house the garden levels and provides a superb vantage point to soak up the sun and amazing views over the local countryside. A well positioned decked area and secluded and quite provides the ideal space for al fresco dining and enjoying the glowing embers of the setting sun. There is also space to cultivate a vegetable garden and potter around with flower and herb gardens. EPC rating C.

OURVENDORSAYS Street End Lane is the prettiest lane I have ever seen, the lane has a community of its own. Our cottage is full of character and we can walk in the countryside straight from our door. In the summer our garden gets sun all day and is a suntrap. There is a lot of wildlife, deer come by our house at night. It great living in a detached character cottage at the end of a pretty lane, walking distance to village amenities, and on the doorstep of beautiful woods and countryside.
WEHAVENOTICED Alexandra Cottage is a truly magical property, fully renovated to the highest standard, whilst retaining all the warmth and character you would wish to find in a period cottage. It is individual and eclectic and set in one of the most enchanting locations in Blagdon.
