This completely renovated and extremely well presented three-bedroom character cottage is a joy to behold and benefits from fantastic views and set in a quiet location in the heart of Clevedon. The cottage can be approached from two directions which helps immensely with parking and access to the main town or indeed to the Hill Road side of the town. Approaching from the Lime Kiln Lane entrance there are a number of steps leading up the tiers of gardens to the private front garden area and to the main cottage entrance. This leads into a useful utility/laundry area that houses the boiler and has worktop space and fantastic feature brick-effect walling. Also from here is the family bathroom which has been completely redecorated and now has a lovely walk in shower, beautiful and creative tiling, feature towel radiator, white suite and exposed beams to the ceiling. The kitchen is a generous size and has a range of wall and base units with inset white ceramic sink and drainer, halogen hob with extractor hood over, eye level cooker, exposed ceiling beams and once again that lovely feature brick-effect wall and also has space for table and chairs for dining. The lounge is again a lovely well-presented room benefitting from exposed ceiling beams, stone inglenook fireplace with inset wood-burning stove, an excellent window seat in the front bay window and a feature recess with exposed stonework. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, two doubles with one having the addition of that amazing feature brick-effect walling. The third bedroom is currently being used as a walk-in wardrobe. Outside the cottage there are a number of tiered garden areas with the front part being laid to lawn with stone wall surrounds and paving and a timber shed. Steps lead down to a lower garden area with a pond that could be a lovely patio area ideal for al fresco dining. The rear door of the kitchen leads out onto a further area of hard-standing with gated access to the front. A path then leads out to the rear of the property and steps lead up to gated access and out onto Highdale Avenue which can provide further parking for you.
SITUATION Clevedon is a beautiful Victorian seaside town overlooking the Severn Estuary, and just 13 miles from Bristol and 10 miles from Weston-super-Mare with good public bus links to both major towns. Popular features include Clevedon Pier, a grade 1 listed building, Clevedon sea front with pebbled beaches and a marine lake, ornamental gardens and a Victorian bandstand all within a 10 minute walk of each other. There are a selection of stylish cafes and restaurants situated next to the Pier and the town is also home to the Curzon cinema which is the oldest purpose built cinema in the world in working order. There is plenty of choice for shopping, both in Hill Road and at The Triangle, centred around the Victorian Clock Tower. Water sports are a feature of the local scene with clubs for canoeing and sailing as well as a variety of other sports such as cricket, rugby and football, as well as golf, bowling and riding. For walkers there are some fantastic routes with the Mendip Hills and vales of North Somerset famed for some of the loveliest walks in the region. World class fishing is offered at the nearby Chew Valley and Blagdon Lakes, and a number of well established equestrian centres are located nearby.
DIRECTIONS From Clevedon Triangle take the B3133 onto Old Street (towards Bristol). Continue on towards Clevedon town centre. At the mini roundabout for Highdale Avenue continue straight on and Lime Kiln Lane will be found on the next right. Proceed to the top of the lane where you can park in the pull-in on the left at the very top.
OURVENDORSAYS We loved this quirky character property from the start even though it needed a complete work over. It is so close to town for shopping and bars and restaurants but still so quiet here and surrounded by lovely gardens it feels like a million miles from stress.
WEHAVENOTICED A really stunningly presented cottage that feels like it's in an oasis of quiet but still within a stones throw of Clevedon town centre. Combine this with private gardens and stunning views and this cottage is one to view. Parking need not be a worry as there is space at the top of Lime Kiln Lane and the second entrance off Highdale Avenue also provides on-street parking.
