DESCRIPTION McCorkindale is a well presented and attractive family home set within an established level plot with ample off street parking and a double garage to the front.
Access is gained to the property by an attractive storm porch providing useful space for cloaks and shoes.
On entering the house you are greeted by a large entrance hallway from which an open tred wooden staircase rises to the first floor. Within the entrance hall is a useful ground floor WC and ample room for bookshelves and display units.
The homely sitting room is situated to the front of the house and features a lovely feature fireplace inset with a gas fire and period style mantle and surround. There are a pair of timber French doors leading outside to the front and a pair of internal French doors to the rear flowing the accommodation through to the dining room. The dining room is an equally impressive room and is not only generous in size but also links through to a large brick based conservatory offering excellent relaxing and family entertaining space to the ground floor. The smart modern kitchen is fitted with a good range of matching wall and base units with a squared edged work surface, there is provision for a dishwasher and upright fridge/freezer along with an integrated gas hob and fan oven. A useful utility room completes the ground floor and provides access to the rear garden along with additional kitchen storage units.
On the first floor are the four bedrooms, including a fabulous master en-suite which enjoys lovely rural views to the rear and features a large en-suite shower and fitted wardrobes. The three remaining bedrooms share use of a good sized family bathroom which includes a three piece white suite and separate shower cubicle. There is also an airing cupboard situated off the landing and a fully boarded and carpeted loft which would make a perfect games/hobby room for a budding model railway enthusiast.
Outside, the property enjoys a wonderful open aspect to the rear with views towards open fields and the foothills of the Mendips. Bounded on two sides by Larch lap fencing, the garden is a peaceful oasis of colour with well stocked borders and raised flower beds displaying a plethora of colour and contrast in the summer months. An area of patio and ornamental slate rests beside the conservatory and provides the ideal space to sit and dine al fresco. There is also footpath access to both sides of the house.
DIRECTIONS Travelling south on the A38 from Churchill traffic lights, McCorkindale is on the left hand side with a Debbie Fortune Estate Agents' For Sale board approximately 30 metres from the traffic lights.
SITUATION Churchill is a popular commuter village situated in the beautiful North Somerset countryside, which offers a range of village facilities which include a shop, pubs, churches, modern sports centre with swimming pool, and primary school (www.churchill-pri.n-somerset.sch.uk). Secondary schooling, both state and private, is well catered for with the ever popular Churchill Academy & Sixth Form (www.churchill.n-somerset.sch.uk) on the doorstep which has recently been awarded Outstanding by Ofsted and also benefits from a modern sports complex, and private schools at Bristol, Wells, Sidcot, Bath and Wraxall. Churchill is favoured by the commuter, being convenient for the cities of Bristol, Bath and Wells and the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare, and there is access to the M5 at Clevedon (junction 20) and St. Georges (junction 21). There is an international airport at Lulsgate and a mainline railway link at Yatton and Weston-super-Mare. The countryside around is well known for its beauty, with many country pursuits available including; walking, hunting, caving, dry-skiing, sailing and fishing, and for the lover of equestrian arts, Churchill is very well served.
OURVENDORSAYS The property has served us well for many years and gives us very many pleasant memories whilst our children were growing up. It has also been the hub for easy access to Mendip Hills, Wells, Bath and Bristol and beyond. The M5 motorway is 8 miles away and takes less than three hours to travel to London. Certainly, if you wish to fly without the headache of a long journey to the airport you can be in Bristol airport inside 15 minutes. We love it here but the time has come to seek something smaller and move away from the district to be nearer our family. No doubt we will reflect on our time and experience here in this beautiful part of the world.
WEHAVENOTICED This attractive timber built home belies its year of construction. Its smart modern Brickwork and charcoal grey window frames look like the epitome of modern day architecture and design. The ease of which the internal walls can be move or adapted to suit someone's own preferences is quite unique. A modernist masterpiece.
