Beautiful rural detached cottage ... a registered smallholding in a woodland setting, set in over 1/3rd acre with excellent outbuildings and glorious country walks right on the doorstep. EPC rating E.
DESCRIPTION Looking to get away from it all? Have you ever dreamt of owning a cottage in a true country location? When you stand in the gardens at Woolmers Cottage you look out over countryside to mature mixed woodland with only one other property in sight! Not for the faint hearted though, the access is over a bumpy lane, which winds its way through the woods and down quite a steep hill! - so sports car enthusiasts with low slung cars should take a note - this may not be for them. Buyers should also note that the approach is through managed woodland, run as a commercial shoot, so please take care to avoid running over pheasants! Woolmers Cottage has been renovated in recent years to a high standard and with great charm and character. Features include superb bespoke joinery including pine floors, doors, panelling; a stunning kitchen, stylish bathroom, plus double glazing with toughened glass, damp and timber treatment, oil central heating, refurbished drainage, wiring, re-plastering and decoration. Outside the mature grounds of about 1/3 acre have been landscaped and include ample parking and some useful and substantial outbuildings and garaging ideally suited to buyers who need a workshop or space for multiple cars or machinery. It is rare indeed to find a beautifully renovated cottage in a spot like this. Viewing recommended
Our vendors say ... We couldn't believe the location when we first saw it - in the middle of nowhere but still within reach of Bristol, Weston and the airport. We love the freedom of the place, walking the dogs through the woods, the wildlife and nature right on the doorstep, we will be very sad to go.
We have noticed ... The secluded wooded track that leads to Woolmers Cottage is serene and enchanting and although as you might expect from where the house is positioned you will get the occasional plane flying into or out of Bristol airport, it's amazing position more than compensates for it.
SITUATION Situated with good access to local amenities and surrounded by beautiful countryside, Wrington (www.wringtonsomerset.org.uk) is the jewel in the crown of the Wrington Vale and one of the most sought after villages in North Somerset. Indeed not only is it picturesque with a lengthy and interesting history, but it benefits from facilities usually reserved for a larger town. The essential ingredients of a good village are known in the property business as the seven P's - pub, primary school, post office, parson, public transport, phone box and petrol station. There is also a pharmacy, satellite doctor's surgery and dentist - Wrington has it all! Secondary schooling is available at nearby Churchill Academy and Sixth Form Centre (www.churchill.n-somerset.sch.uk) which benefits from a modern sports complex, and transport for local children provided daily. There are also further schools both state and private at Bristol, Backwell, Wraxall and Chew Magna. The area around is well known for its beauty and offers a variety of community pursuits within a drive. Indeed, riding, walking, fishing, sailing and dry skiing are just some of the activities available within a few miles. The village of Wrington is within commuting distance of the City of Bristol and the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare and there is access to the motorway network at Clevedon (junction 20) and St. Georges (junction 21). There is an international airport at Lulsgate and access to a mainline railway station at Yatton.
DIRECTIONS Travelling from Wrington Motors (in the centre of Wrington) proceed up School Road, turn left into Ropers Lane and then right into Wrington Hill, bear left at the top and continue. Go through the bluebell wood and turn left, signposted to Woolmers Boarding Kennels. Follow the track (for approximately one mile) slowly through the woods avoiding ducks and pheasants, and proceed down the hill and on through Woolmers Kennels at the end of which you bear right (by large sheds). Proceed to the end of the track and park. Woolmers Cottage is right there.
