Looking to get away from it all? Have you ever dreamt of owning a cottage in a true country location? When you stand in the gardens at Woolmers Cottage you look out over countryside to mature mixed woodland with only one other property in sight! Not for the faint hearted though, the access is over a bumpy lane, which winds its way through the woods and down quite a steep hill! - so sports car enthusiasts with low slung cars should take a note - this may not be for them. Buyers should also note that the approach is through managed woodland, run as a commercial shoot, so please take care to avoid running over pheasants! Woolmers Cottage has been renovated in recent years to a high standard and with great charm and character. Features include superb bespoke joinery including pine floors, doors, panelling; a stunning kitchen, stylish bathroom, plus double glazing with toughened glass, damp and timber treatment, oil central heating, refurbished drainage, wiring, re-plastering and decoration. Outside the mature grounds of about 1/3 acre have been landscaped and include ample parking and some useful and substantial outbuildings and garaging ideally suited to buyers who need a workshop or space for multiple cars or machinery. It is rare indeed to find a beautifully renovated cottage in a spot like this. Viewing recommended. EPC rating E.
Situated with good access to local amenities and surrounded by beautiful countryside, Wrington (www.wringtonsomerset.org.uk) is the jewel in the crown of the Wrington Vale and one of the most sought after villages in North Somerset. Picturesque with a lengthy and interesting history, it benefits from facilities usually reserved for a larger town, including two pubs (one with an excellent restaurant), church and a chapel, a primary school (awarded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted), post office, public transport, petrol station, pharmacy, dentist, coffee shop, grocery shop, off licence/convenience shop and even two florist/gift shops (one in the village centre and one on the outskirts). Secondary schooling is available at nearby Churchill Academy and Sixth Form Centre (www.churchill.n-somerset.sch.uk), also recently awarded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted (with transport for local children provided daily), and which also benefits from a modern sports complex open to the general public. Further schools, both state and private, are at Bristol, Backwell, Wraxall and the Chew Valley. The area around is well known for its beauty and offers a variety of community pursuits. Indeed, riding, walking, fishing, sailing and dry skiing are just some of the activities available within a few miles. The village itself is within commuting distance of Bristol and the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare and there is access to the motorway network at Clevedon (junction 20) and St. Georges (junction 21). There is an international airport at Lulsgate and a mainline railway station at Yatton.
Travelling from Wrington Motors (in the centre of Wrington) proceed up School Road, turn left into Ropers Lane and then right into Wrington Hill, bear left at the top and continue. Go through the bluebell wood and turn left, signposted to Woolmers Boarding Kennels. Follow the track (for approximately one mile) slowly through the woods avoiding ducks and pheasants, and proceed down the hill and on through Woolmers Kennels at the end of which you bear right (by large sheds). Proceed to the end of the track and park. Woolmers Cottage is right there.
