Property Description

DESCRIPTION

Beautifully fronted with rustic stone and weathered oak, High Barn House was built in 2009 and designed to fit perfectly amongst the neighbouring rural stone buildings. Inside, the large entrance hall leads directly to a wonderfully large sitting room which runs from the front to the back of the property. The sitting room itself boasts a feature log burner in the centre of the room and tri-folding wooden doors to the rear. Double doors lead onto the modern kitchen across the rear of the property with a spacious dining area and a further set of tri-folding doors leading out to the garden. This layout is ideal for families and is accompanied by a downstairs cloakroom, understairs storage and an integral garage with utility space. Underfloor heating runs throughout this property with each room on the ground floor benefitting from individual temperature control.

The upstairs is just as good with three double bedrooms each having built in wardrobes and are serviced by a modern family bathroom. The master bedroom has the added benefit of a private ensuite shower room, a vast fitted wardrobe and a gorgeous tarrace which overlooks the west facing garden and countryside beyond! There is plentiful loft space, partly boarded and ideal for storage along with a useful airing cupboard on this floor.

Outside of the property there is a large level lawn which is totally secure and a large decked area which spills directly from the back of the house and creates the perfect space for alfresco dining. To the front of High Barn House there is ample off street parking and side access to the garden. The single garage has an electric up and over door and provides further potential to extend (subject to planning permission).

SITUATION

The village of Chew Magna was voted in 2011 top out of the twelve best villages in the UK in a survey featured in the Sunday Times. Surrounded by rolling hills, this Bath & North East Somerset village (www.chewmagna.org.uk) can trace its history back to Saxon times, and is popular with those who wish to escape from the city but have easy access to their place of work, being only 10 miles from Bristol, with its International Airport, mainline railway links and the M5 and M4 motorways. The picturesque countryside of the Mendips and the beautiful Chew Valley and Blagdon lakes are no more than a few miles away with endless countryside walks on the doorstep. To the east is the Roman City of Bath, about a 30 minute drive away. The excellent local amenities include nearby schools, four pubs, a nursery, vets and dentist and an area of shops including a post office café, supermarket, beauty & hair salon, pet store and Michelin recommended seafood restaurant.
